Rosie Sanders

Rosie Sander’s unique style of painting pushes the boundaries of Botanical Art and whilst fitting loosely into the tradition of the genre, the size of her compositions and intense richness of colour sets her apart from her contemporaries. The Flower paintings have a sensuous quality and drama that is unrivalled in contemporary botanical painting and her paintings of fruit and vegetables combine this quality with a realism that makes them ‘good enough to eat’.

Several of Rosie’s paintings are in the collection of Dr. Shirley Sherwood and a dramatic painting of Arisaemas has been prominently displayed in the new Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanical Art in Kew Gardens.   She is represented by Jonathan Cooper at Park Walk Gallery in London where she has had solo shows since 2004

Rosie has been awarded five Gold medals by the Royal Horticultural Society and won the Royal Academy miniature award.   Rosie is a member of the Linnean Society in London, the Society of the Botanical Artists and the Devon Guild of Craftsmen as a printmaker.
