<p>Coombe Gallery is an exciting online art gallery selling art by Devon artists.
The gallery is a showcase for much of the best work by contemporary British
artists and makers from the South West of England - painting, sculptures, ceramics,
jewellery, textiles, glass and wood. </p>
<p>Coombe Gallery was originally set up by Paul and Tina Riley as part of the
educational complex of Coombe Farm Studios dedicated to the teaching of Fine
and Applied Arts and able to be viewed at www.rileyarts.com. The Gallery is
a showcase for much of the best work by contemporary artists and makers from
the South West of England, an area rich in artistic tradition since the establishment
of the St Ives School in Cornwall and Dartington Hall in Devon. We also aim
to encourage new and exciting talent, not only from the UK but from around the
world through such themed exhibitions as "Rising Stars"and "East
meets West". This has enabled us to bring together such diverse work as
the award winning Vietnamese photographer Long Than, the famous textile twins
Sumiko and Yashiko Honda of Japan and stonecarvers of excellence from Zimbabwe.
Coombe Gallery exhibits Paintings, Glass, Textiles, Ceramics, Jewellery, Wood,
Sculpture and Photography.</p>
<p>We represent artists and makers whose reputations have grown steadily both
nationally and internationally such as painters Paul Riley, Gerry Dudgeon, Tom
Rickman or Ceramicists Laurel Keeley, Christy Keeney and Jill Fanshawe Kato.
Nick Agar turns wood on a vast sculptural scale for walls and tables whilst
Will Shakspeare’s tall colourful glass vases can reach a metre in height.</p>
